I'm really looking forward to what SMULA can become for families

Hello!

My name is Agnes and I work as project manager and communications lead for SMULA. In this post I want to share some thoughts on why I find the work with SMULA so exciting and why I believe the app can make a big difference for many families.

A project that feels meaningful

There are many apps in the world, but not all of them solve real everyday problems.

What makes SMULA special to me is that we're building something that can actually help people when they need it most. Being able to quickly find a changing table, a child-friendly toilet or a place where the family can take a break can make a big difference during a stressful day.

As a project manager I get to follow the whole journey from idea to reality, and it's incredibly inspiring to see how each part of the project slowly falls into place.

We build together with families

One of the things I like most about SMULA is that the app isn't just about technology.

We want to create a place where families help each other by sharing experiences, photos, tips and recommendations. When someone adds a new place to the map, it helps the next family in the same situation.

That kind of community feels both valuable and important.

SMULA won't get better because we as a team sit in an office guessing what families need. It gets better when real families use it, test it and tell us what works.

Fantastic work by the team

Another reason I'm looking forward to the future is the people behind the project.

We have an engaged team where everyone contributes different skills. Peter drives the product development forward, Andrea creates the experience and communication, Simon builds the technical foundation, Jacob develops the interfaces, Rickard works on partnerships, and Grim helps us stick to the long-term vision.

There is a strong desire in everyone to create something that truly helps.

You can see it in everything from planning meetings to the small details in the app.

The feature I'm most looking forward to

Personally, I'm really looking forward to the map of child-friendly places.

The idea of being able to open the app and immediately see changing tables, toilets and family-friendly places nearby feels both simple and obvious. At the same time, we know it's information that's often hard to find when you actually need it.

I also believe that place views with photos, opening hours and tips from other parents will make a big difference. Knowing what to expect before you arrive creates reassurance and saves time.

This is only the beginning

Even though we've come far, there is still much to develop.

We are continuously working to improve the app, expand the map and create an experience that feels simple, safe and useful for families across Sweden.

Going forward we hope to welcome more test families, more ambassadors and more people who want to help us make the map even better.
